Job Description

Power Industry Support, LLC is actively recruiting a Control Room Operator for a 31 MW biomass-fueled stoker fired biomass power plant in Burney, CA.

We are looking for an experienced Control Room Operator with a background in and exposure to solid fuel boiler operations. The person holding this position is responsible during his/her shift for all personnel and equipment involved in the safe and efficient production of steam and electricity. He or she leads in the coordination, monitoring and controlling all on-shift operations. As the senior individual on duty, he or she has the responsibility and authority to take whatever action may be necessary to protect people, environment, and equipment.

Salary Range:  Starting wage determined by the CBA (as of Jan. 1, 2025, starts at $33.33/hr.)

12 hr. shifts (8 regular hours/4 hours paid at OT wages) with full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, 401k (with company matching), company paid basic life & AD&D insurance plans.

The hiring company does not provide sponsorship at this time.

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Control Room Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and controlling operations within the control room, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our facilities. This role is crucial in maintaining operational integrity and responding to any issues that may arise in real-time. The Control Room Operator will work closely with various teams to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.

Duties
• Monitor and control the operation of pipelines, ensuring efficient flow and safety protocols are adhered to.
• Operate heavy equipment as needed, performing routine checks and maintenance.
• Respond promptly to alarms and system alerts, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Maintain accurate logs of operations, including any incidents or anomalies.
• Collaborate with field personnel to coordinate operations and resolve any operational challenges.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to oil, gas, wastewater, and water treatment processes.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance.

Requirements
• Proven experience in a control room environment or similar role is preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate heavy equipment safely.
• Familiarity with pipeline operations, oil and gas industry standards, or wastewater treatment processes is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by operational demands.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members across departments.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to strict safety protocols.
