Job Description

Power Industry Support, LLC is actively recruiting a Control Room Operator for the Dillard Energy Complex located in Dillard, OR. The facility is a 35 MW stoker fired biomass cogen power plant with 3 boilers and 5 turbines.

We are looking for an experienced Operator with a solid background in and exposure to solid fuel power plant operations and maintenance.

Salary Range:  Starting $33.20/Hr

Description:

The operator is responsible for the distribution of the 12,500 Volt and 4160 Volt electrical load to the Dillard complex and to the grid, and will assist with configuring the plant to “Island Mode” if loss of power occurs from PP&L.

This position monitors BAS (building automation system) alarms, and controls within the steam plant. The team member in this role must maintain the skills necessary for the ever-changing technology-based automation systems, by training and learning daily. The team member will be expected to complete a Work order to help with preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on power plant, and building equipment.

Decisions:
Position works as a member of a team. Decisions made by this position affect the entire complex. The team member is responsible for maintaining a continuous flow of electricity, steam, and air to the complex in normal and emergency situations. Additional job-related decisions may include when to start or stop equipment, interpreting equipment data and applying corrective actions.

Work Schedule:
This position works non-typical hours/shifts and is classified as Dupont schedule. Rotation of 12hrs nights and days.

Minimum Requirements

knowledge of turbine generators, high pressure boilers and related technical systems involving electrical and steam.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating high pressured boilers of 600 psi or greater.
  • Experience operating steam turbines.
  • Experience working around high voltage equipment and lines.
  • Knowledge or some background with steam turbines.
  • Knowledge or some background with utility distribution ideally.
  • Knowledge or some background with maintenance of Boilers, Air compressors, DA Tanks, RO units, Pumps, and valves.
  • Experience with software like Factory Talk, and CMMS software such as EAM.
